Hi folks!
Today is Vijayadasami day!
Can't think of a more auspicious day to launch any activity. So here goes.
SAMHITA is the blog of Society for Application of Maritime Heritage of India for Total Advancement.
The aim of the Society is to re-kindle interest in the nation, particularly amongst the younger generation of our rich Maritime Heritage.
SAMHITA is not an organisation - it does not have any structure for Management - no office bearers - no funds - no political affiliation.
Anyone who wishes to learn anything about our Maritime heritage can join it.
The idea is for those who have something to contribute in terms of knowledge on this 'ocean' of a aubject, to gio around educating others who wish to know.
We can address schools, colleges, Rotary clubs, residents associations, any group of people who are interested.
The undersigned is the National Convener - don't get impressed by the title - there is no one else in the Society- some one had to start, and I could not think of anything better to call myself.
I have already got the Rotary club of Madras Central Aadithya interested in the concept. through them I have recently addressed a combined meeting of Five Rotary Clubs at a Chennai hotel.
I have a power point presentation on what we could do in the area. Anyone who wants a copy can send me an e mail and I will share it with them. maybe thats the starting point.
Its a long and interesting voyage.
Let set sail!!!!!
